Here are some essential skills that organizations in Romania are working to pass on to their learners
to ensure their success in digital learning environments:
o Basic technical skills in the use of computers, tablets, smartphones, and other
technological devices necessary for autonomous learning, as well as in the use of
educational platforms, applications, and digital tools for learning.
o The ability to find, evaluate and use information online effectively and ethically as
well as cyber security awareness, knowledge about protecting personal data and
sensitive information online.
o Online communication and collaboration skills, the ability to work in virtual teams
and actively participate in online projects.
o The ability to critically evaluate information found online, to distinguish between
credible and unreliable sources and make informed decisions in the digital context.
o Capacity to adapt to technological changes and new teaching and learning methods.
o Awareness and compliance with ethical norms in the online environment, as well as
respect for cultural diversity in the online environment.
o The ability to create and share digital content in various forms, such as presentations,
videos, or blogs.
o Knowledge of how to participate actively and responsibly in the online community.
These competences will contribute to the development of a more comprehensive and effective
approach to digital education in Romania. It is important that these skills are already integrated into 27
the training programmes of organisations providing adult education and that they will be tailored
to the specific needs of learners.
