7. MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Cases of application for the job market
B.
In my role as a Sales Team Manager, I noticed
the team struggles with low morale, lack of
motivation and lack of clear direction. To
address these issues, I initiated a
comprehensive approach to identifying and
addressing the root causes of problems within
the business.
Taking a proactive stance, I engaged with individual team members to
understand their concerns, I spoke to all my team members, discovering that
they felt overworked, underpaid, and lacking in basic resources. Having this
knowledge, I formulated a strategic plan to overcome these challenges.
I started by creating a detailed sales plan that outlined the specific goals, the
strategies we would use, and the timeline for completion. I also met with the
sales team to get their feedback on the plan, and I made sure that everyone
felt involved in the process.
Next, I tackled the issue of underpayment by restructuring the compensation
plan, recognising individual sales performance. This immediately made the
team feel more motivated and engaged, and it also helped to attract new
talent to the team. Additionally, I focused on creating a more positive and
supportive work environment. I held weekly team meetings to discuss
progress, and I made sure that everyone felt heard and appreciated. It took
some time the bonding inside the team, but I was patient and systematic in
order to achieve my goals.
In executing this multifaceted strategy, the results were transformative.
Morale and motivation within the team improved significantly, leading to
enhanced collaboration and achievement of sales targets.
