7. MANAGEMENT SKILLS
How does it differ between the digital learning
and workplace context?
When you transfer from the digital learning to workplace application
there are 3 key differences you should be aware of:
Digital learning environments offer controlled, distraction-free
settings, enabling learners to concentrate on courses and skill
practice without external pressures. Conversely, workplaces are
dynamic and unpredictable, marked by frequent interruptions,
urgent requests, and unexpected challenges. Effective
managers adeptly adapt to these changing conditions, staying
focused on priorities while managing multiple diverse tasks.
Digital learning primarily emphasizes individual learning and
skill development through simulated real-world scenarios or
individual action modules. However, workplace management
demands the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues,
communicate with customers and stakeholders, necessitating
adeptness in navigating diverse interpersonal dynamics.
Managers must cultivate relationships, handle conflicts, and
foster a positive, productive work environment.
While digital learning courses often offer skill application via
case studies or quizzes, translating these skills into practical
workplace application necessitates consistent feedback and
guidance. Managers in the workplace receive feedback from
supervisors, colleagues, and customers, enabling them to
enhance their skills and tailor them to their organization's
specific requirements
