7. MANAGEMENT SKILLS
Cases of application for the job market
Imagine that you need to illustrate your strengths in the workplace. If
management skills are one of them your response could look like one
of these cases:
A.
As a seasoned construction worker, I am responsible for managing a team
of workers on a large-scale hotel accommodations project. My strong
management skills are evident in my ability to create detailed project
schedules and assign everyday tasks efficiently.
I'm good at making detailed project plans. I break down big projects into
smaller tasks so that everyone on the team knows what they need to do
and when it needs to be done. This helps us work efficiently and get
things done. I also make sure that each team member is doing their part
to move the project forward.
I carefully analyse where to use our resources, making sure the right tools
and materials are available when each group of workers needs them. This
prevents delays and keeps everything running smoothly. When
unexpected problems come up, like bad weather or not enough materials,
I handle it well. I quickly figure out what to do, make backup plans, and
talk with the team to keep the project on schedule.
My management skills directly affect
how well the project goes. By sticking to
the schedule and making sure the work is
top-notch, I make sure the project gets
done on time and doesn't cost more
than it should. Because I motivate and
guide my team well, we get more done
and do it more efficiently, making the
project even more successful.
