will achieve in order to make most of it both at professional and personal level. As a content creator
and trainer of metacognitive competences you need to understand your students, their learning
style, background, needs, ambitions, barriers and biases that can help or block them to evolve. You

could consider yourself a mentor towards the complexity of the advanced learning process that will
guide his students to a higher understanding of their own self and their abilities to thrive.

Skilled adults with metacognitive competences are able to learn new things faster. It is rewarding
to create materials that will help adults use their long forgotten or neglected strong points to adapt
to today’s world and perform efficiently on the demanding labour market.

Throughout the Met-AE project, the exploration of metacognition within Estonian adult learners
and educators unveiled both anticipated insights and unforeseen revelations. Collaborating with
partners from diverse European countries facilitated a continuous exchange of perspectives and
practices, enriching our understanding of the project's themes.

In Estonia, adult learners exhibit a commendable capacity for autonomous and digitalized learning,
particularly among those with prior formal education, indicating a correlation between educational

exposure, interaction with educators, online learning, and the development of metacognitive skills.
Furthermore, work experience significantly contributes to individuals' awareness of their learning
abilities, emphasizing the practical application's pivotal role in fostering autonomy and skill
development. This holistic approach underscores the transformative potential of metacognitive 64
skills in empowering individuals to navigate various learning contexts effectively.

While many Estonian adult learners display proficiency in autonomous learning, a substantial
portion still prefer structured environments offering guidance and feedback, highlighting the

importance of a balanced approach to accommodate diverse preferences. This shows how
important it is to have learning experiences that fit each person's needs, balancing freedom with
some guidance. It highlights how teachers help people learn on their own by making environments
where curiosity and exploring are encouraged. This makes the learning journey better and more
            effective.

Moreover, in Estonia, adult education providers play a crucial role in instilling metacognitive
methodologies, empowering learners to comprehend their learning processes effectively. By

introducing metacognitive strategies, educators equip learners with lifelong tools for self-
improvement and adaptation, fostering self-awareness, regulation, and evaluation. This emphasis
on metacognition's long-term impact underscores its potential in enhancing personal development,
achieving work-life balance, and navigating evolving professional landscapes efficiently.

The Met-AE project underscores the transformative potential of metacognition in adult education,
emphasizing the need for tailored approaches that empower learners and educators alike. Our
different Multiplier Events held in Estonia enriched us by providing diverse perspectives and

practical insights, further enhancing our understanding of how the project's outcomes will be
