9. MENTAL WELL-BEING IN THE WORKPLACE




             Cases of application for the job market



         Imagine  that  you  need  to  illustrate  your  strengths  in  the  workplace.  If
         mental  well-being  is  one  of  them  your  response  could  look  like  one  of

         these cases:

            When  I  worked  on  construction,  I  noticed  the  toll  the  long  hours  and
            repetitive  tasks  took  on  my  and  my  team's  morale  and  physical  well-

            being.



            I  thought  about  how  can  I  deal  with  it  and  I  decided  to  engage  my
            colleagues  in  playing  short  social,  card  and  board  games  during  our

            breaks, to relax, detach from the construction site's hustle, and interact,
            instead of each of us keeping attached to our phones. This practice really

            helped.


            It not only reduced stress levels and helped us to more effectively deal

            with  exhaustion  and  frustration  that  often  happens  in  our  work.
            Management  noticed  the  improved  team  dynamics  and  decreased

            instances of burnout, acknowledging how investing in mental well-being
            among  physical  workers  led  to  a  safer  and  more  efficient  work
            environment.
