3. FOCUS MASTERY AND MAINTENANCE
Key approaches to implementing
the skill in a workplace
There are numerous techniques that can help you with getting
and maintaining focus in the workplace[1],[2],[3]:
Set Goals: Define specific, achievable goals for each
task or project. Having a clear understanding of what
needs to be accomplished will help you direct focus
towards the desired outcome.
Establish a to-do-list and prioritize tasks: Record all
your tasks to prioritise, avoid missing something and
release your memory from storing information. Divide
tasks into four categories: urgent, important, less
important, not important to prioritize effectively.
Allocate time and choose the right environment:
Allocate specific time slots dedicated to focused work
on particular tasks. Minimize interruptions by finding a
quiet workspace, using noise-canceling headphones, or
setting boundaries with colleagues and phone related
distractions to help you commit to concentrating
solely on the task at hand.
Break Tasks into Smaller Steps and limit multitasking:
Divide extensive tasks into smaller, manageable parts.
Focus on completing one small task at a time to
prevent feeling overwhelmed, maintain concentration,
productivity and attention to required quality
