2. SELF-AWARENESS AND CAPACITY RECOGNITION
Cases of application for the job market
Here are several examples of cases where self-awareness and capacity
recognition were applied in the job market:
A.
John attends a job interview and the employer asks about his weaknesses. He
replies that his biggest weakness is focusing too much on the details of a
project. He works to improve this situation by focusing his attention on long-
term goals and delegating tasks to teammates so he can work on more
important areas. This way, John maintains the quality of his work while
ensuring that projects are completed on time.
This shows that he is able to assess its weaknesses, an important skill.
B.
Marie has just received her annual
performance review. In her feedback,
her managers and teammates suggest
that while she is reliable, she could take
more initiative on projects and tasks.
Marie realized that this is because she
doesn't know how other team members
will view her when she expresses her
opinion.
She decides to be more aware of the impact her actions have on her
teammates and takes steps to observe her colleagues who are successful in
taking the initiative to learn from them. She is also taking a public speaking
course to gain insight into how she structures her thoughts. Through this, she
will gradually gain her confidence and be able to contribute significantly to the
company.
