10. SEEKING ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT
Make sure you actually listen to people that try to
support you. While you do not need to follow blindly
or even agree with provided advise, do not
disrespect your colleagues when they respond to
your request for help and engage in dialog regarding
their proposed solutions and be open to different
points of view.
Invest in relationships. Cultivate positive
relationships with colleagues and supervisors. Having
good relations with your coworkers and managers
will make asking for and receiving support more
effective.
Avoid being disruptive. Choose the right time to ask
for support, that corresponds to your urgency, but
also do not jeopardize work of people that you seek
support from.
