Key approaches to implementing
the skill in a workplace
Effective problem solving in your workplace will determine
your success as well as of your team, as unpredictability of real
life will require you to face multiple unexpected challenges. For
that you should prepare for approaching your problems in an
effective way[1],[2],[3],[4]:
Make sure you really understand what the problem you
are facing really is – identify what is the issue and what
barriers does it pose for reaching your work objectives.
Look for information – try to understand the details of
the problems – its causes, implications, factors
influencing potential solutions, as well as different
perspectives of your teammates or other stakeholders
that can be relevant.
Define alternative solutions – Be creative, but realistic
about potential solutions, and avoid jumping into the
first viable idea before exploring alternatives.
