5. AUTONOMOUS LEARNING AND WORKING

                           Key approaches to implementing

                           the skill in a workplace

Developing and applying autonomy at work involves taking
initiative, making decisions, and taking responsibility for your
actions. To cultivate and apply autonomy in your workplace[1],

                           [2], [3]

Understand your work and responsibilities – make
sure you fully understand the tasks you are expected

to perform and extent of your responsibilities. Clarify

with your manager the areas where you can be
autonomous and what are the limits.

Identify projects or tasks where you can take

ownership and demonstrate your autonomy. Propose
ideas for initiatives that would allow you to lead or

                                      work independently.

Increase your decision-making abilities to minimise
risks in the scope of your independent tasks.
