5. AUTONOMOUS LEARNING AND WORK
How does it differ between the digital learning
and workplace context?
Being autonomous in performing tasks is a relatively broadly
applicable competence. However, there is a number of differences
you should be aware of:
Autonomous learning involves taking charge of acquiring
knowledge and skills independently. On the other hand,
autonomous working centers on independently executing and
completing job-related tasks or projects within the context of
your organization, considering team dynamics, company
objectives, and addressing specific, often complex challenges.
The goal is to contribute positively to the organization rather
than being a burden.
Autonomous digital learning is about heading toward your
individual personal and professional objectives, while being
autonomous at work is about contributing toward overall
objective of your company without the need for much guidance
and support of others.
Within autonomous digital learning you will set your personal
milestones and will be able to adapt to your individual pace.
However, in autonomous work, although you perform tasks
independently, it's crucial to comprehend how your task aligns
within the company's overall system, recognizing time and
resource constraints to avoid negatively impacting your
colleagues.
